Life Is Chill Education is excited to share new details about the upcoming Modern Elder Collective Wellness Expo, taking place on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 10AM to 2PM at the Phoenix Shrine Auditorium.
This free, first-of-its-kind expo was created specifically for older adults who are curious about cannabis, proactive aging, and personalized wellness. And now, with just a few months to go, we’re proud to announce two inspiring additions to our lineup: keynote speaker Dr. Sue Sisley, MD and emcee A.J. Jacobs.
Dr. Sisley is one of the most respected figures in the field of cannabis medicine. As Principal Investigator at the Scottsdale Research Institute, she led the first FDA-approved clinical trial of smoked cannabis for combat-related PTSD in military veterans. She continues to advance research into plant-based therapies, including psilocybin, and has played a critical role in securing the only DEA Schedule I license for cultivating psychedelic mushrooms for research in the U.S. Her keynote presentation, “Cannabis & Healing from Combat: What the Research Shows & What’s Next,” will offer an in-depth look at what science reveals about cannabis and trauma recovery—and where the research is heading.
Joining her on stage as event emcee is A.J. Jacobs, a U.S. Air Force veteran, former Arizona State Trooper, and longtime advocate for cannabis education and policy reform. A.J. serves on the Board of Directors for Arizona NORML and is host of the Blue to Green Podcast, where he works to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the cannabis community. As a father of children with autism and a passionate voice for responsible cannabis access, A.J. brings heart, humor, and perspective to everything he does—and to this event.
The Modern Elder Collective Expo will feature a science-forward education symposium, hands-on learning rooms, and a community of trusted voices committed to helping seniors, caregivers, and veterans make informed decisions about their health and wellness. Attendees can expect approachable presentations on topics like cannabis and the aging body, how to read product labels, and how to navigate dispensary menus with confidence.
One of the day’s most anticipated sessions will be a live panel discussion featuring seniors and veterans who will share real-life stories about how THC and CBD have impacted their lives, from managing chronic pain and sleep to regaining a sense of autonomy and balance.
The event will also host interactive product demos and exhibits from top brands including Superior Dispensary, Aeriz, and Wana Brands, with more sponsors being confirmed each week. Guests can learn directly from budtenders and educators in a welcoming, hands-on environment that encourages questions, exploration, and connection.
To ensure accessibility, Life Is Chill has partnered with local organizations to provide free shuttle transportation from select independent living communities.
The expo is free to attend and open to seniors age 55+, caregivers, healthcare advocates, and family members. Registration is required. To reserve your spot, visit LifeIsChillEducation.com.
